David Foster Founder/ChairmanThe Foundation was a dream that became reality over 20 years ago when David learned of a little girl from his home town who was in a Los Angeles intensive care unit awaiting a life saving transplant. His commitment to children's advocacy began with the price of one airline ticket, making one little wish happen, and has since grown to raising millions of dollars to assist families of children in need of organ transplants as the Foundation expands across Canada. David has also lent his musical skills to over 300 charitable events and organizations. In 2006, David was honoured as an Officer of the Order of Canada. |
Michael Ravenhill PresidentMike has been with the foundation for 18 years and fills the role of President over the past 2 years. He is involved in the community in a number of non-profit societies, chairing fund raising events and a leader in kids development programs in Victoria. Mike recently took on an international role as VP Customer Service for a major international development company. Mike's passion for the foundation is in his drive to take the Foundation across Canada. |
Ian Tostenson Vice PresidentIan and has been Vice Chair of the David Foster Foundation since 1994. He is also the President and CEO of the BC Restaurant Association. An accomplished business leader in the wine, beer and spirits industry in British Columbia, Ian was the Proprietor of 1 four management, President and CEO of Cascadia Brands, and held several senior positions with Calona Wines. He was Chair of the BC Wine Institute from 1995-2000. He was a 1998 Entrepreneur of the Year awards finalist and winner of Business in Vancouver under 40 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. |
Walter Creed TreasurerWalter is the Treasurer and Past President of the Foundation and has been a Board member since its inception in 1986. He is a “Fellow" Chartered Accountant and recently retired partner of the international accounting firm of Grant Thornton. Walter is an Honorary Citizen of the City of Victoria and has been a volunteer for many charities and organizations on a Board level. |
Dale DouglasDale Douglas was born in Victoria B.C. and has been with the Foundation for 5 years. Dale is a community-minded, family man who volunteers many hours for a number of local charities and sports organizations. He is the Vice President and Regional Manager of the Focus Corporation, a multi-disciplinary engineering firm. |
Mary MartinMary is a mother of three grown children, and has been married to her high school sweetheart for 25 years now. Mary has been extensively active in her community of Surrey for the past 15 years, particularly with reagards to the needs of children. She chaired a school board for 8 years, established a chapter of Kids Help Phone in the South Surrey/White Rock area, and has been Deputy Cahir of Parks, Recreation and Community Services since 2003. In November 2005, she was elected as a Surrey City Counceillor. |
| Hugh Curtis A native of Victoria, Hugh has enjoyed a long political career which spanned 25 years without one electoral defeat. He served as an MLA for fourteen years and received many awards for his dedicated service to the community. He is one of the founding members of the David Foster Foundation as well as a long time member of Variety Club, The Children's Charity. |
Iain Hooey Iain Hooey has been involved with the Foundation since its inception. First as a volunteer then a committee member and onto the Board in 2002. He retired from the Esquimalt Police in 2003. Besides the DFF, he is involved with other charity organizations that raise funds and awareness for children and youth. He also plays golf (badly). |

Lynn Mosley Executive Director David Foster FoundationLynne has worked tirelessly for the Foundation since the beginning in 1986 and is the Executive Director. Lynne works one on one with each of the registered families and is the voice they hear when they call for assistance. She takes care of contacting hospitals and medical staff, arranging travel and accommodation, counseling families and ensures their needs are supported. |
Norm Kilarski Chairman, David Foster and FriendsNorm has contributed to the Foundation from its inception, first as communications and telethon Chair to VP and member of the board. Norm has also served on the cabinet of the United Way, and as a chair person for the PGA & CPGA golf tournaments on Vancouver Island and Vancouver. His tireless energy is now focused on the Fundraising arm of the Foundation as Chair of David Foster and Friends. |
